Ginger turmeric hummus
Home made hummus with immune boosting spices. Rich in folate, iron, B-vitamins and calcium.
Ingredients
700 g chickpeas, drained and rinsed
50 ml water
4 tablespoons tahini
Juice of 1 lemon
4 cloves of garlic (crush these first if your blender is a bit on the weedy side)
2 teaspoons ginger powder
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Preparation
Place the drained and rinsed chickpeas, water, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, ginger and turmeric powder in a high speed blender.
Blend for 2 minutes until creamy and smooth. With the motor running, slowly pour the olive oil into the hummus. Add the salt and pepper and blend until smooth.
Put on a plate or in a shallow bowl and decorate with the reserved chickpeas.
